Following their phenomenal success at Euro 2016, Wales will be hoping to kick off their World Cup 2018 qualifying campaign with a win over rivals Moldova on September 5th 2016. Chris Coleman’s men proved to be formidable opponents after reaching the semi-finals of Euro 2016, and with world class striker Gareth Bale stoking the fire, the Dragons will be hungry for more success.

The two teams have only met twice before with Moldova winning the first and Wales the second. Both matches were over twenty years ago and Wales are now by far the favourites to emerge victorious. The Welsh Dragons will be hoping to bag three points to get their Russia World Cup qualifying campaign off to a flyer.

Two noticeable omissions to the squad (through injury) are Aaron Ramsey and Jonathan Williams - David Vaughan has retired. They will be replaced by Newcastle defender Paul Dummett, the Cardiff midfielder Emyr Huws and the Leicester striker Tom Lawrence.
