The AVIVA Tour of Britain is Britain's National tour and the UK's highest ranked cycle race. The 2015 race takes in eight stages, from the start in North Wales to the finish in central London, visiting the Scottish capital Edinburgh and including the race's toughest ever finish at Hartside Fell in Cumbria.

STAGE ONE -  6th September, 11.00am start. The Grand Depart of the Tour of Britian begins in Beaumaris on Anglesey - the first time the modern race has begun in Wales. The race leaves Anglesey via the famous Menai Bridge and heads through all the six North Wales regions - Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham - and the heart of Snowdonia before finsihing in the centre of Wrexham.

STAGE TWO - 7th September, 11.15am start. The second day of racing begins in Clitheroe and takes place within the Ribble Valley and Pendle districts for a short, sharp stage with plenty of climbing through the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A winding route gives spectators plenty of chances to see the racing before the finish in Colne.

 

 

SCOTLAND

 

STAGE THREE - 8th September, 10.15am start.  Cockermouth is the host for the start of the third days racing before it heads along the Cumbrian coast through Carlisle and into Dumfries and Galloway. Heading into the Scottish Borders, Hawick, Selkirk  and Melrose all welcome the AVIVA tour before it finishes at Floors Castle outside Kelso.

STAGE FOUR - 9th September, 10.00am start. The AVIVA tour will visit Edinburgh for the first time when it begins at Holyrood Park before passing through East Lothian, the Scottish Borders and into Northumberland. The towns of Wooler, Alnwick and Warkworth are all visited before the finish in Blyth.

STAGE FIVE - 10th September, 11.00am start.  The next stage of the AVIVA tour begins in Prudhoe and then alongside the River Tyne and then Hadrian's Wall. The stage is across Northumberland, into the Penines and then into Cumbria. It takes in the Lake District National Park around Ullswater before the final climb of 8 kilometres to the summit finsih on Hartside Fell above Penrith in the Eden District.

STAGE SIX - 11th September, 10.30am start.  The race will begin in the city centre of Stoke-on-Trent heading east through the Peak District National Park towards the finish at Nottingham Forest Recreation Ground. This is a tough stage as it includes several famous climbs in the Peak District for the peloton.

STAGE SEVEN - 12th September, 10.00am start.  This stage takes the Tour to East Anglia for the penultimate and longest leg of the 2015 race. Fakenham in Norfolk hosts the start for a route that will pass through the centre of Norwich before crossing into Suffolk for the finish in Ipswich town centre.

 

STAGE EIGHT - 13th September,  15.30pm start. The final stage of the AVIVA Tour of Britain and the London Stage presented by Transport for London. A new route, starting and finishing on Regent Street, St James, will take in the likes of Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, the Strand and Whitehall over multiple laps, giving spectators the chance to see the world's best riders in their captial city.
