The Republic of Ireland are off to Euro 2016 in June, and will bring with them the Green Army of fans who are sure to add a sense of fun to the competition.
Over the past few years, the Boys in Green of Ireland have gained a reputation for their amusing taste in flags; who can forget the giant tri-colour at Poland during Euro 2012 which gained Europe wide headlines with the slogan “Angela Merkel Thinks We’re At Work”, or the fantastic headline grabbing flag displaying a photo of Shane Long with Lionel Richie printed on a giant tri-colour with the words “All Night”, referring to Richie’s hit song All Night Long; the flag was made after Long’s late winner against Germany in the Euro 2016 qualifiers.
