GAY PRIDE EVENTS CALENDER - AUGUST 2016

BELFAST PRIDE – The event runs from 25th July to 7th August. The 2016 Belfast Pride Parade takes place on 6th August and is the biggest single parade in Belfast. Belfast City Hall will be lit up like a rainbow for the Pride event.

BRIGHTON PRIDE – 6 – 7th August 2016. Hove Lawns/Preston Park. The Brighton Pride Festival is widely recognised as the biggest and most popular Pride event in the UK. Acts taking part include Sister Sledge, Carly Rae Jepsen, DJ Fresh, Fleur East and Alesha Dixon. There will be stalls run by local and national charities, groups and organisations. There is something for everyone at Brighton Pride!

LEEDS PRIDE – 7th August 2016. Parade leaves Millennium Sqaure at 2pm and finishes on Lower Briggate in the heart of the LGBT scene. Great variety of stalls and entertainment.

CYMRU PRIDE – 13th August 2016. Cardiff Coopers Field. Third year running. A melting pot of colour, fun, entertainment and friendship.

PLYMOUTH PRIDE – 13th August 2016. Plymouth Pride festival is now the largest in the South West - West of Bristol. The Pride event will take place on Saturday 13th August 2016, with a parade through the city centre followed by a FREE music festival at the stunning iconic Plymouth Hoe. Headline act -  Hazell Dean.

WIGAN PRIDE – 13th August 2016. This is the FIRST Wigan Pride! Held in the Market Place in the town centre of Wigan. Various stalls and entertainment. Live music and comedy for all the family. FREE event.

MARGATE PRIDE – 13th August 2016 from 12 noon. Margate Seafront. Parade and rally.

WARRINGTON PRIDE – 13th August 2016. Warrington, Barbauld Street A full day of amazing acts, singers, entertainers finishing off into the night with a local DJ. Stalls, fun and games with food and drink being served all day. From 1pm

WAKEFIELD PRIDE – 14th August 2016. Held at The New Union/ The Rainbow. From 12 noon to 3am. Amazing acts and DJ’s for all the family. 11th Year of running.

GLASGOW PRIDE – 20–21 August 2016. Scotland’s largest LGBT festival. The annual Pride Parade is one of the most exciting and vibrant parades in the city’s calendar, as one of the few parades still to go through the city centre it is seen by around 100,000 people and with over 4000 people talking an active part in the parade. From 12 NOON. Plenty of stalls, entertainment, food areas for everyone.

WYTHENSHAWE PRIDE – 20th August 2016 from 10am to 3pm. This is the FIRST Wythenshawe Pride event. There will be stalls from local organizations, workshops & activities, music & food and lots, lots more.

WARWICKSHIRE PRIDE – 20th August 2016. Pump Room Gardens from 11am to 6pm. Leamington Spa. Warwickshire Pride features 100 stalls, live entertainment and performances on the main stage, a pamper area, family area, food and drink from around the world, fairground rides, exotic animal experiences, and plenty more.

SWINDON & WILTSHIRE PRIDE – 20th August 2016. Town Gardens, Quarry Road from 12 noon. The event starts with the Parade leaving at 11:15am from the Town Gardens, Swindon, the 2016 theme for the Parade is Love. When the parade returns to the park, the entertainment will start on the Stephen G Sloan Stage (Community), the Main Stage launches into action at 1:30pm.
This year sees the return of the Arts Zone, Children’s Zone, the Shopping Zone, or you could have a relaxing walk around the Community Stalls and Picnic in the Park.

DONCASTER PRIDE – 20th August 2016. Sir Nigel Greasley Square from 1.45pm to 22.45pm. This is the 10th annual Doncaster Pride event. Variety of acts, stalls and entertainment for all the family to enjoy.

FOYLE PRIDE – 29th August 2016. The centre piece of the Foyle Pride Festival is the annual Foyle Pride parade. The Foyle Pride Parade itself is a spectacular and colourful event, it’s carnival atmosphere creating a fantastic day out for all the family on the August bank holiday weekend, Saturday, August 29th, leaving Waterside Station for the Guildhall at 2pm

MANCHESTER PRIDE – 26-29 August 2016. One of the biggest Pride events in the UK. Live music, stalls, food areas and the annual Parade! Acts to be announced in August.

 CORNWALL PRIDE – 27th August 2016. Cornwall Pride Parade starting at 11am (Lemon Quay) followed by a family Picnic in the Park from 12 noon with stalls, food and free entertainment. Ticketed event in the evening in the Marquee back on Lemon Quay (over-18 only) with local acts supporting a national headliner (TBC).

 WALSALL PRIDE -  27th August 2016. Now in its 4th year! Gallery Square 11am to 5pm. FREE event for family and friends. Music acts, stalls, food areas.

SOUTHAMPTON PRIDE – 28th August 2016. At The Stage Door, all day event. During the day it’s family friendly with activities and entertainment. Adults only in the evening.
