BLACK COUNTRY DAY IS CELEBRATED ON 14TH JULY and is supported by the four local councils of Dudley, Wolverhampton, Sandwell and Walsall. The first official Black Country day was in 2014.

July 14th was chosen to mark the region's industrial heritage. July 14th is the anniversary of the invention of the World's first steam engine, built in the Black Country in 1712.
