BURNS NIGHT CELEBRATES THE LIFE AND WORK OF THE POET, ROBERT BURNS, AND SCOTTISH CULTURE IN GENERAL. IT IS ON OR AROUND THE 25TH JANUARY EVERY YEAR.
Robert Burns was born in Alloway, Scotland on 25th January 1759 and died on 21st July 1796. He was a poet and wrote many poems and lyrics, his most famous being Auld Lang Syne which is sang on New Years Eve not just in Scotland but all around the world.
The Scottish Flag is often displayed at celebrations on Burns Night. Many people and organisations hold a Burns Supper on this night - traditionally haggis, neeps and tatties. Readings of Burn's work are made during the evening.
Be part of the celebrations and fly your Scotland flag.
