Jersey and Guernsey have a joint venture to commemorate and celebrate their shared history. Events include a day long carnival, re-enactments, the opening up of wartime bunkers and historic towers and of course proudly hanging their flags out for Liberation Day.

Each island still displays many visible signs of Germany's five year occupation in the form for fortifications and bunkers across the coastline aswell as underground tunnels and hospitals.
