The Royal Signals are leaders in IT, Cyber and Telecommunications, providing battle winning communications to every part of the Army. The Royal Signals are trained to become experts in engineering and operating systems, networks and cyber equipment.

The Corps comprises of its own logistics experts, engineers and systems operators to operate radio and area networks whilst in the field. Responsible for installing, maintaining and operating the full quota of telecommunications equipment and information systems, delivering vital command support to commanders and their headquarters, at the same time as conducting electronic warfare against enemy communications. Signals units provide the telecommunications infrastructure for the British Army wherever it operates across the globe. Whether with special forces and intelligence gathering teams, or with soldiers serving in armoured formations, the Royals Signals will usually be deployed alongside.
